Two of my favorite things are apple pie and cinnamon rolls so why not combine them! Fluffy, rich, and topped with a cream cheese icing makes these a Saturday morning must.
Since Michael and I are breakfast/brunch addicts I have been taking advantage of our Saturday mornings off for new breakfast ideas and this one was a hit. If you're looking for a healthy breakfast option you may want to bypass this one but if you want delicious cinnamon heaven then keep on scrolling!

- Mix 2 ½ cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Set aside.
- Heat water, milk, and 3 T butter.
- Stir in water mix to dry mixture and let stand for about 5 minutes so that the yeast can activate. Then add in egg.
- Mix on low with dough hook for 6 minutes.
- Add extra flour a tablespoon at a time per minute while mixing for smooth dough.
- Allow dough to rest for 5 minutes.
- Roll into large rectangle.
- Spread 3 tablespoons softened butter on dough.
- Mix together cinnamon, brown sugar and sprinkle dough evenly with mixture.
- Chop apple pie filling into small pieces and spread over top of cinnamon mixture.
- Start with the long side of the dough and rightly roll.
- Cut with sharp knife into 9-12 even pieces.
- Place dough onto greased baking sheet about 1-2 inches apart.
- Place rolls in warm draft free area and allow to rise until they have doubled in size (usually 1-2 hours). I heat my over to 250 degrees, turn the oven off, and place my rolls in the oven with the door cracked open.
- When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix together powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla, and butter until completely smooth.
- Poor frosting over warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
