Favorite Finds
- Our brother’s wedding was this weekend and somehow through two days of outdoor events and my refusal to use bug-spray, I didn’t get a single bite. Completely unusual for me as I usually get swarmed. The one thing I did different? This lotion. I have no scientific evidence to back this claim, but I had this stuff on head to toe, so I’m swearing by it and stocking up for the summer.
- Went to see Materialists last week and we both loved it. Sure, the leg thing is a bit odd and the plot may have some arguable holes, but overall, we got it. If anything it’s a great conversation starter, great cast, and Dakota Johnson’s style is spot on.
- My newly minted sister-in-law asked me to do some video of their wedding day and I had the best time with this little Sony Handycam. So much so that I’ve been actively debating whether I need one myself. This was the exact one, but I’m seeing it may be discontinued and hard to track down so this one seems to be a more affordable/readily available option. She ordered a package through Press Record Co which comes with the camcorder and however many hours of record time you want. You film your day on and off like an old home video, send the camcorder back to them, and they put together what they call a 3-4 minute Modern Day Home Video with the footage as well as sending you all of the raw footage that was taken from the day. We obviously haven’t seen the edited video yet, but it was such a fun concept to grab clips throughout their wedding day and even to hand the camera off to them or their friends along the way.
- Watched The Amateur and were captivated the entire movie. We eat up an agency/spy thriller.
- Since wedding was the subject of most of the last week, we’re going with it… For the ceremony/reception, I wore a BHLDN dress I picked up over a year ago with nothing but hearts in my eyes. I had absolutely no idea where I was going to wear it, all I knew was I loved the color, I loved the draping, and I loved the side slit. The exact name is BHLDN August Satin Charmeuse Midi Dress in Moss Green. You can find several for resale, like this one or this one or this current one from Reformation is super similar.
- I’ve been a natural nail girl for years at this point, but when I want to add a bit of shine I’ve been leaning on this polish. Shade 00, two coats. Even my nail technician was impressed with this stuff.
- Honestly not sure if I took any pictures other than some black and white film from the rehearsal dinner or getting ready for the wedding. In hindsight I should have taken more, always, but I wore a Charlotte dress (this one and this one) to run around in each day and it was a great, easy choice to still feel put together in the heat and humidity.
