“I am rooted, but I flow.”

what i'm reading
- Physical – Finishing up The Picture of Dorian Gray and just got a paperback of Wuthering Heights to mark up so I’m ready for Margot and Jacob come February. I have this hardcover one in my clothbound collection, which if you haven’t discovered these clothbounds, get your wallet ready. They’re one of mine and Kate Middleton’s favorite things. You’re welcome. Start with this box set, then this one, then this one. Then go wild filling in the gaps! This may be my favorite one of them all. Or this one. It’s a tie. Want the entire set? Go crazy.
- Ebook – In the romance department, I just finished Variation. Five stars. If a book involves ballet, I will read it.
- Audio – Almost done with Once Upon A Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. I like the narration, but I do have to speed her voice up which is something I usually avoid doing.
what I'm watching
- We rented Nuremburg over a week ago and I’ve thought about it every single day since.
- People We Meet On Vacation on Netflix, obviously. The book is better, but I did like the movie. Michael…did not. He couldn’t quite stand the female character, which I could see since he hadn’t read the book and I do think reading it helps you understand her more.
- His & Hers on Netflix. Dear lord, the twists. Bingable.
- Tehran on Apple TV. If you like spy-ish thrillers, you’ll love this. Michael is far more locked in than I am simply because he loves the real world comparisons, but I do find it to be a captivating show.
what I'm listening to
Anything and everything Sombr at the moment: 12 to 12, back to friends, undressed.
what I'm making
January/February is muffin season. It’s cold. They’re warm. It is what it is. I grew up with an unyielding devotion to the Martha White wild berry muffin mix (just add milk to the artificial contents of this pouch—IYKYK) and I’ve finally landed on a homemade, dairy and refined sugar free version that gives every bit of nostalgia with a fraction of the ingredients.
375 degrees for 25 minutes
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk, plant or cow
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup frozen raspberry, blackberry mix
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
what I'm wearing
- I’ve had these weatherproof boots for years and every year I’m taken back by how much I wear them in the winter months. Cold and rainy, cold and snowy—They’re a no brainer. I have them in black, but the camel is calling to me. Well worth the price tag.
- Can’t tell you the number of times I’ve shared these sunglasses, but they’re the pair I always come back to. I’ve gone through the designer sunglasses phase and while I do love my Saint Laurent cat eyes, I always come back to this classic pair.
