“I have always loved everything about you. Even what I didn’t understand.”

what i'm reading
what I'm watching
  • Oh. What. Fun. on Prime. I had been looking forward to this movie coming out ever since I saw the preview. I mean—Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloe Grace, Felicity Jones—what a cast. It was cute and funny and visually appealing, but I’ll admit I had a different idea of what I thought it was going to be in my head. I’ll probably watch it back and love it more the second time around, but it’s a great addition to the Christmas movie rotation. Michelle Pfeiffer—her hair and wardrobe—divine.
  • We’ll watch anything Glen Powell is in, so I randomly turned to his new show, Chad Powers, on Hulu one night this past week. It’s a comedy, obviously, but we found it to be sneakily funny. Like some of the things his character says just catch you completely off guard, hitting in the funniest way. It was light-hearted and 99% pointless, but a pretty good palette cleanser.
  • We went to our first Knicks game while in New York this past week and all I could think about was How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days. We rewatched it this week and both Michael and I kept saying there hasn’t been a rom-com like it since 2003.
what I'm listening to

Does Spotify Wrapped really mean anything if I don’t share mine?

  • 51,490 minutes, 213 genres, 1,850 songs, 12 albums, 766 artists
  • Top Artists: Taylor Swift, Ashley Kutcher, Gracie Abrams, Benson Boone, Tate McRae. Honestly, not much of a surprise here other than Tate McRae. I do love her music, but I would have bet Olivia Dean beat her out on that list.
  • Top Songs: Favorite Color, How’s the Weather?, A Crush (Is Just a Lack of Information), House On The Water. Literally all by Ashley Kutcher. I swear she’s all I listened to this summer. And Honest by NOTD, Lou Elliotte.
  • Top Genre: Indie Pop
  • Top Albums: The Life of a Showgirl (Taylor Swift), The Tortured Poets Department (Taylor Swift), House on the Water (Ashley Kutcher), The Secret of Us (Gracie Abrams)
  • Soft Hearts Club

what I'm making

My kitchen is about to be taken over by Christmas cookies. I’ve got these three going into cookie tins:

what I'm wearing
  • I picked up this black sweater dress for New York and it’s the best. Short, warm, perfectly loose, but not too loose. Just wish it came in more colors.
  • These black leather boots from last week’s note? Found the store, tried them on, bought them on the spot. Walked to dinner in these almost every night in NYC. The perfect heel and boot height.
  • Turtlenecks. December through February, I live in them. Literally. You will not see my neck if it’s below 50 degrees outside. This fitted ribbed version is my all time favorite as I own it in nearly every color by now (size up one size). Also love this slim fit cashmere style for when I need more warmth.
  • These tights are my go to right now. Wearing the 20 denier in both the tights and loafer socks pictured above.
  • You can find my full What I Wore in NYC here.
what I'm shopping
  • Grabbed this sweater and this cardigan on our trip.
  • Deep burgundy bag—Between this style bag or this one. But this new Stockholm style is haunting me, even though it’s black.
  • Just ordered this hand lotion in hopes of saving my hands this winter. I love the Santal & Vetiver scent, but it was slower shipping time so I’m trying the Black Rose & Oud.
what I'm doing
  • Making Christmas cookies
  • Watching The Family Stone
  • Turning 34!

With love,
Lauren
